By accessing or using the stockdata.dev service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

stockdata.dev provides SEC EDGAR filing data through a REST API, including financial statements, insider trades, institutional holdings, beneficial ownership filings, congressional trade disclosures, and corporate events. All data is sourced from publicly available SEC filings and is provided for informational purposes only.

3. Non-Commercial Use Only

The Service is licensed for personal, educational, and non-commercial use only. You may not:

  • Use the API or data obtained from it in any commercial product or service
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute API data to third parties for commercial purposes
  • Use the data to build or operate a competing data service
  • Incorporate API data into any product or service that is sold, licensed, or monetized

Permitted uses include personal research, academic projects, hobby applications, and non-commercial open-source projects. If you are unsure whether your use case qualifies, contact us at support@stockdata.dev before proceeding.

4. Data Disclaimer

The data provided by this Service:

  • Is derived from SEC EDGAR public filings and may have processing delays
  • Is provided "as is" without warranty of accuracy or completeness
  • Should not be used as the sole basis for investment decisions
  • May contain errors or inaccuracies introduced during parsing

We are not responsible for any trading losses or decisions made based on data from this Service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Exceed your plan's rate limits or attempt to circumvent them
  • Share or resell API keys or access credentials
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures or access controls
  • Use the Service for illegal purposes
  • Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract the entire database
  • Misrepresent the source of data obtained from this Service

6. Billing and Payments

Paid plans are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of your billing period. Refunds are provided at our discretion.

7. API Keys

You are responsible for keeping your API keys secure. Do not share keys publicly or commit them to version control. We may revoke keys that appear compromised or are being used in violation of these terms.

8. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service depends on SEC EDGAR availability and may experience delays when the SEC systems are under maintenance.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend access immediately for violations of these terms, including but not limited to commercial use without authorization. You may delete your account at any time.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
